My mind forever changed about Christmas nine years ago. My husband had been released from a month-long stay at City of Hope just weeks before. His stage four cancer was in remission and the stem cell transplant was a success. He was alive. He was home. Our family was together again.
Nothing mattered like it had in Christmases past—buying that perfect gift … getting that perfect gift … dressing the house and packages just so. Nothing mattered but the indescribable gift of God in Jesus—and the souls for whom He came to save.
This is Christmas.
